Feeding Hungry Kids

How do you help hungry students during the summer? There are programs in place during the school year, but how can we care for these same students when school is not in session?

Picnics in the Parking Lot was born out of a collaboration with The Life Center, Whitewater Crossing Christian Church, and The Community Pantry at Whitewater. Our goal is to create a fun and family friendly event where all children under 18 years old can get a free lunch and families can get food for the week.

We welcome EVERY family in the community to participate. We want to have a party where your kids can meet friends and you can build a community, regardless of your economic status.

This event is held for six weeks over the summer. Check our Facebook Page for the most-up-to date information.

Food Assistance

Every child under 18 years old receives a free lunch at Picnics in the Parking Lot. Every family can also pick up fresh produce from the Free Store Food Bank, and a food package for the week from The Community Pantry.

No explanations are needed, take what you need.

Fire Truck Day is a Favorite

Every week we have different activities to delight and entertain your children. One of our most popular event is Firetruck Day. The Miamitown Fire Department comes to the Whitewater Crossing Campus and sprays the hose for our students to run through and cool off.

Our summer fun activities include Side by Side Books, a petting zoo, bubble day, Lindsey’s Shaved Ice, and much more.
